Data Centre Pressurisation Solutions
Ensuring Safe and Efficient Operation within todays Data Centres All data centres require some form of temperature control in order to operate safely, efficiently and at optimum performance. This is why all data centre equipment operates in halls where the space conditions are held within tightly controlled operating conditions. ASHRAE provides recommendations concerning these parameters and how best to maintain optimum conditions within these highly important, mission critical environments. Data centres also require positive pressurisation aimed at preventing contaminants entering the data halls and ultimately the servers. The supplied air is taken from the surrounding outside environment, which varies depending on local conditions. Local environments can vary from being close to the coast and suffering from airborne sea salt or close to industrial or commercial sites with various airborne contaminants that could be harmful if they were to reach the data centre servers. The local conditions can also vary from extremely cold and dry winter conditions to very warm and humid summer conditions. ‘Pressurisation solutions’ regulate the amount of ‘conditioned’ outside air supplied into the data hall, in order to ensure the room is kept at positive pressure and supplied within the specified range of temperature and relative humidity. Weatherite’s fully packaged, self-contained pressurisation / RH control solutions are designed and built to meet the demanding requirements in preventing contaminants entering the data halls and ultimately avoiding damage to the servers and the valuable data they hold.
