Refurbishment Brochure
Because of the buildings listed status and the tight configuration, great care was needed to ensure all works were carried out professionally and efficiently so as not to damage any of the buildings infrastructure or to disrupt the day to day activities taking place in this busy facility. Originally designed by one of its employees, Michelin House in Chelsea, London opened for business in 1911 and now holds ‘listed building’ status. The project involved refurbishing 8 off, water cooled, internal DX units which were operating inefficiently and continually in need of some form of maintenance. As the building is in almost constant use from 7am until 11.30 pm, all works had to be carried out over night so as not to disrupt the on-going business activities. Solution Working closely with lead Consultant WPPM, Weatherite Group provided full CDM project management capabilities for all related work carried out which included; new scroll compressors new control panels new refrigeration equipment new water valves new anti-vibration mountings new fan bearings new couplings new software and cabling replacement of existing water cooled shell and tube condensers with high efficiency plate heat exchangers refurbishment of all supply fans and complete overhaul, cleaning and painting of all unit casings Case Study Michelin House, London 5
